22 Independent & Free Press,Thursday, October 6, 2011 Georgetown Bach Chorale kicks off season by heading to Broadway By RON GREIDANUS Georgetown Bach Chorale The Georgetown Bach Chorale (GBC) has some wonderful concerts to offer in its upcoming 2011/12 season to help console you in the shorter days of autumn, the frigid days of winter, and the warmer days of spring. There is a famous saying: "if it ain't broke don't fix it." The Bach Chorale is doing exactly that! Following the enormous success of their first jazz dinner and concert, the Chorale has decided to host another evening of a sumptuous multicourse gourmet dinner paired with a jazz combo and hot sultry singers. We're bringing Broadway New York to Georgetown. The hottest night club for one night only is St. George's Anglican Church, 60 Guelph St. on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $75-- available in advance only. It has been said by Sir Andrew Davis, former conductor of the TSO, that the GTA is a mecca for Handel's most popular oratorio, The Messiah. Evidence of this statement is clear in four performances given by the Bach Chorale and Baroque Chamber Orchestra. Come and live history in the present.
