Jennifer Knox, Stephanie Knowles, Charley Truyens, Michaela Quinn, and Simone Faloona-- all Grade 8 students at St. Francis of Assisi-- will be TrickOr-Treating for Local Poverty dressed as the cheerleaders from the television show Glee. Jennifer said they were inspired to take part in the Halloween for Hunger program through the Free the Children organization after attending the We Day event in Toronto last month that promotes youth volunteerism. On Friday the girls distributed a flyer in their Glen Williams neighbourhood letting their neighbours know they would be collecting food for the food bank instead of candy.
