Partial proceeds from the book will be donated to the Foundation. A book signing is being planned for December...stay tuned! November 3rd - Fall Fashion Show at the Club at North Halton. Tickets for this exclusive `ladies only' evening can be purchased through the Foundation Office by calling 905-873-0111. December 3rd - The Annual Christmas Ball Fundraiser will be held at the club at North Halton. All proceeds raised will go to the CT Scanner and ER Expansion project. Georgteown Hospital staff and doctors will take to the ice during the Jr. A Raiders game to play their own game and raise money for the hospital. Raffle Winners Announced At the Walk for Georgetown Hospital in September, eBookGuides4Life.com Co-Founders Lori King and Christine Maiorano donated $100 to the Georgetown Hospital Foundation. The sum represented a portion of the sale proceeds for the launch of Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bonnette's children's eBook, "The Incredible Adventures of Goon Sharoon." The eBook is also listed for sale at: www.eBookGuides4Life.com or www.GoonSharoon.com with all of the proceeds benefitting the Georgetown Hospital. At Noon on September 30th, the Georgetown Hospital Volunteer Association (GHVA) held their raffle draw for the Handmade Quilt called "Nightfall" donated by the Canadian Federation of University Women-Georgetown Quilters and a Victorian Doll donated by Elizabeth Taylor of Georgetown. The winner of the quilt was Gisela Lamb of Georgetown. An astounding 1,413 tickets were sold, raising $2401. Special thanks to the Georgetown Quilters for selling 315 of the tickets. Dianne Oliveira of Mississauga won the Victorian Doll with Ticket #61 out of the 126 tickets that were sold to raise $221. All proceeds from both raffles will go towards the GHVA's $250,000 commitment to the Georgetown Hospital redevelopment project. Thanks For Lyons' Donation of $260,000 Last month, the Georgetown Hospital Foundation received one of the largest single donations ever made to the Hospital, a bequest of over $260,000 from Mr. John Lyons, who passed away in August 2010. Mrs. Lyons, her daughter Shelley, her sons David and Don, and Don's wife Carol visited the Foundation office to deliver the bequest in person and express their appreciation for Georgetown Hospital (GH) and that they would be able to support it in this way with an astounding financial contribution. On behalf of the staff, physicians and volunteers at the Hospital and every community member served by GH, the Foundation would like to extend sincere thanks to the Lyons family for their overwhelming generosity. The gift of $260,885 will go toward the Foundation's Investing in Care ­ Close to Home campaign that will help fund the construction of a new ER, the acquisition of a CT Scanner and the redevelopment of the Diagnostic Imaging Department at Georgetown Hospital.
