Upon arrival heavy smoke was found coming from the roof vents and soffits, and firefighters quickly gained access to the attic to attack the fire there. The house suffered water and smoke damage estmated in the range of $50,000. The four-vehicle crash occurred on Bovaird Drive West, just west of Ashby Field Road, Monday around 7 p.m. Peel Regional Police say the Brampton man's 2010 Kia crossed into oncoming traffic. He was pronounced dead at the scene, while the Georgetown woman, driving a 2010 Passat, was rushed to a Toronto trauma centre where she was listed in serious condition. Two other vehicles were involved in the crash-- an Equinox and an Acura. The drivers-- a 37-year-old woman from Brampton and a 35-year-old Milton man-- escaped with minor injuries. Both were treated and released from hospital, according to police. The cause of the crash is under investigation, but police say there are no indications that alcohol played any role in it.
