GRAHAM Acton Legion news On behalf of the executive we would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe and healthy New Year. Remember over the holidays if you drink don't drive. On Dec. 11, the Ladies Auxiliary and the branch hosted the annual children's Christmas party. It was a great success. Santa said the children were very excited and ran up to give him a big hug. It is always fun to see the children having a good time. On behalf of the branch Alice DeRabbie would like to say thank you to all of Santa's helpers Peg Harris, Rhona and Jim Thornhill, Helen Van Opstal and Mary DeRabbie. Also on December 11th the Zone gave out awards for the Poppy poster and Literacy contest. One of our students from Acton who attends Christ the King school came in third and won a very nice award for her black and white poster. As Youth Ed chair this is the second time that a student has gone to Zone in my term. Congratulations goes to Riane Masse. New Year's Eve tickets are available at the bar. Your ticket includes your party favors and a light buffet. If you are not doing anything why not come out and ring in the New Year with Brown's Garage band. The doors open at 7 p.m. The music starts at 8 p.m. What better way to come to a party and get a bus ride home for all local residents. Levee day is January 1st. Why not come to the branch pay your dues and listen to karaoke all afternoon with Troy and Jesse. This is a fun afternoon.
