French Immersion info nights planned Halton District School Board is hosting public information centres in January on the Early French Immersion and Extended French programs with entry points in Grade 1 (Early) and Grade 7 (Extended). In these bilingual programs, elementary students attend one of the board's French Centres where they receive half of their instruction in English and the other half in French. This gives students the opportunity to achieve a working command of French and to acquire the personal growth, knowledge and skills expected in the regular program at the same time. In preparation for September 2012, Halton District School Board has planned information sessions at various French Immersion centres where parents will receive specific information, as well as answers to frequently asked questions about Immersion programs. Parents will also receive a French Immersion Program Registration Form. In Georgetown, the meeting will be held Tuesday, Jan. 10, 6:30 p.m. at George Kennedy Public School, 75 Weber Dr. In Acton, the meeting will be held Tuesday, Jan. 17, 6:30 p.m. at Robert Little School, 41 School Lane.
