Raiders rout Sabres 13 The IFP · Halton Hills, Thursday, January 12, 2012 Nick Perruccio and Daniel McNamara had two goals each as the Georgetown Raiders skated past the host Buffalo Jr. Sabres 6-2 Tuesday evening in an Ontario Junior Hockey League contest. McNamara scored with just six seconds left in the second period to snap a 2-2 tie for the West Divisionleading Raiders, who have won 11 straight games. Stephen Genua and Caleb Apperson also tallied for Georgetown, which outshot the struggling Jr. Sabres 39-27 in former NHLer Mike Peca's debut as head coach for Buffalo. OJHL teams had to trim their rosters to 23 on Tuesday and the Raiders made a move, picking up 19-year-old rearguard Conor McLoughlin from the Hamilton Red Wings. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound McLoughlin, a Steeltown resident, had two goals and 12 assists in 32 games with the Wings after a 37-point campaign last year and saw his first action for the Raiders against Buffalo. "I've been trying to trade for him for the last two years. Conor adds a lot of depth and experience to our blue line," said Raiders' head coach and general manager Greg Walters. "He can play both on the power play and penalty kill and now we've got seven solid defencemen to work with." Captain Alex Lubczuk didn't play Tuesday but Walters doesn't expect he'll miss any more action. The 28-8-1 Raiders will host the Aurora Tigers on Saturday at the Alcott Arena starting at 7:30 p.m. In other league transactions Tuesday, 19-year-old J.P. Villeneuve of Georgetown, a point-a-game forward with the Lindsay Muskies this season before asking for a trade, was dealt to the Toronto Jr. Canadiens and then flipped to Powell River of the BCHL. Scoring came from throughout the lineup as the Georgetown Pepsi minor midget AA Raiders earned the championship trophy at a tournament in Dallas.
