9 In Focus, January, 2012 on Main Street Acton was transported back in time on December 10 when the town celebrated an Olde Fashioned Christmas. The afternoon started with a community carol sing with the Acton Citizens Band and the festivities continued with oldfashioned entertainment like horse-drawn wagon rides with Santa, gingerbread house decorating at Roxy Coffee and an outdoor ball hockey game on Willow Street. The streets were alive with the sound of Christmas carols on December 8 during Downtown Georgetown's annual Holiday Magic on Main Street. Families flocked to the downtown core where they snacked on tasty holiday cookies, sipped hot chocolate and warm apple cider, climbed aboard for horsedrawn wagon rides, sang along with the carollers, checked out the street entertainers and enjoyed the infamous Downtown Georgetown hospitality. No Christmas celebration would be complete without a visit with Santa Claus, who was on hand for photos and holiday wishes.
