Survey reveals 70 per cent pleased with Town services Continued from pg. 4 · Recreation program (88%) · Public parks, open space beautification (87%) · Town facilities (85%) Top public works priorities are: · Snow plowing, sanding and salting (94%) · Building and maintenance of roads (91%) · Activan Transit for seniors and persons with disabilities (86%). While 70 per cent were satisfied with the overall quality of the services and the time to get service, those satisfaction levels dropped when residents were asked about roads, recreation, and seniors' transit. For example, 94 per cent of the respondents considered snow plowing, sanding and salting important, but only 69 per cent were pleased with the Town's efforts in this area-- a drop from the 73% approval rating in 2005. Hodapp said there is a large gap between residents' priorities for recreational services and public works services, and the satisfaction of those services. He recommends addressing citizens' concerns with public works, and targeting recreational centres for youth and seniors Seventy-five per cent said existing services for the seniors is adequate. Of those who say they are not, they asked for better transit, better or more activities and programs, and more, or larger, places to meet. But only 57 per cent say that existing services for youth are adequate. The remaining 43 per cent say more sports and recreational facilities are needed, more programs for youth are needed and better, or additional, facilties. Only 36 per cent surveyed believe the Town should provide publicly-funded transit with 40 per cent saying they would never use public transit between Georgetown, Acton, Oakville and Burlington. $ 99 Breakfast 317 Guelph St. (at Canadian Tire) Ends Jan. 31/12 5 ·The IFP· Halton Hills, Tuesday, January 17, 2012 Bacon Eggs Coffee 7 days/wk 6-11 am 2 $ Featuring: - Roast R t Beef B f - Roast Pork - Meatballs SERVED THURSDAY & FRIDAY 11:30 am to 2:00 pm LUNCH BUFFET - Assorted Salads - Dessert Table - Tea & Coffee 11.50 HST INCLUDED Private Catering Available ~ LIVE ENTERTAINMENT ~ Fri. & Sat. 9:30 pm - close Rock n' Roll Tr u e Ve l v e t Acton driver facing impaired charge An Acton man is facing charges following a single-vehicle collision on 22 Sideroad west of Fourth Line about 3:15 p.m. Sunday.
