It's been a year already since our lives were turned upside down. That day, dear Mom you were taken from us. Everyday is a struggle knowing we can't see you or hear your voice again. All we have left is our precious memories of how much you were our life and our rock. Our tears flow daily, Our hearts hurt beyond belief. We are reminded by your great grandchildren not to cry that you will always be in our heart. They are so right but it doesn't take that terrible pain away. Our lives will never be the same without you here. You are so sadly missed and loved dearly, Bob, Darlene (Johnny and Roxy) Your grandchildren and great grandchildren Drink and drive, and your life may never be the same again. You not only risk your life when you drink and drive, you also risk losing your license, incurring expensive fines, doing time in jail or even causing injury or death to an innocent bystander. With all these consequences facing you, driving under the influence is the worst decision you can make. Don't take chances with drinking and driving; there's always a better alternative. Thank you, Linda Crawford and family A Poem by Cathy Turner (Lyons) The Sunday Swans As morning broke, the Sunday sun was aglitter; It would be a day of relaxation For the girl with the big brown eyes, and her father. It was a peaceful, symbolic place of serenity that was captured all around By the graceful swans gliding across the glistening water Spiced by the gentle breeze. There was a certain magic held within that only could be found at the lake of the Sunday Swans. No child could ever feel as much pride As the brown-eyed girl when she looked up at her father. Even though fate took him away too soon, There are still those memories at the lake of the Sunday Swans. Cathy Lyons ARON HAMILTON JADE OMARDEEN MELISSA POTOCNIK Local teens to appear on Degrassi Local residents are stepping into the acting world with regular appearances on Degrassi. Acton resident Aron Hamilton, 15, and Erin residents, Jade Omardeen, 15 and Melissa Potocnik, 17, came into the industry after attending one of talent agent Pat Jarosz's open calls for her agency, Bookitalent, last fall. The series resumed shooting at the beginning of October and within days Jade was booked as a new Grade 9 student, Melissa as a new Grade 10 student and Aron as a UN delegate from another school. There is a lot of awaiting involved between takes and actors are given time to complete their schoolwork while on set. If an actor shoots for two consecutive days, or after five school days worked, a tutor is provided. Jarosz explains that youth are not eligible for the lead roles on the show until they turn 16. In the meantime, some actors are groomed for future roles by being incorporated into scenes. Jarosz has been an agent since 1980. For Flyer Information, contact Nancy Geissler, 905-873-0301, Ext 228
