At last week's meeting, Halton Regional Council unanimously endorsed a Mayor Rick Bonnette resolution telling the GTA West Corridor Study Team to stick to the 2031 timeframe, and if that timeline is extended, then relook at all the options. The resolution also firmly stated Halton Region "has clearly articulated that they will not be financially responsible for a north-south link from northwest Brampton to southeast Halton Hills." The resolution reflects a similar one that Halton Hills council approved at an earlier meeting. The latest round of consultation by the GTA West Corridor planning team is focusing on three alternatives: · The preferred Provincial option-- two new highways-- the east-west 4-3 and the northsouth 4-2 through south Halton Hills, plus a 10lane Hwy. 401 · Greater than 10-lane Hwy. 401 with the 4-2 hwy ending at a larger 401/407 interchange, · The 4-3 highway throughout Halton Hills with a "municipal connecting link" (the former 4-2 Hwy.). The kids enjoyed a drumming session with Jim Perry, known as The Guelph Drum Guy, as he taught them basic techniques, showed them various drums from distant countries, and above all, a whole lot of fun making noise.
