Photo by Ted Brown 9 The IFP · Halton Hills, Thursday, March 22, 2012 Spencer second-best Know-It-All Georgetown resident Dave Spencer wasn't the smartest man in the room Monday night-- but he was the second smartest. The 39-year-old made it to the final three of the Discovery Channel series Canada's Greatest Know-It-All and in the final show of the season which aired last night at 10 p.m. on Discovery Channel, it was revealed Spencer finished runner-up to Ted Coffey of Alberta. Spencer a millwright by trade, had been up against nine other competitors from across the country vying for the title. The show's billed as "the ultimate brain-busting competition, featuring 10 of Canada's biggest self-proclaimed smarties competing head to head in a super sized arena of grit and wit." Every episode contained several complex group and individual tasks-- each challenge having a built-in secret twist. The competitor with the fewest points after each episode's final challenge was eliminated. The show was filmed last June. "It was life-changing," said Spencer, a married father of two. "It was so much fun experiencing these amazing challenges with these incredible people." Spencer and his family and friends gathered with some cast and crew of the show to watch the final episode Monday night at the St. George Pub in Georgetown.
