The former chair is currently serving her second term. The resignation will become effective as soon as the school board finds a replacement. "I started a new job this past November and I've struggled to be able to do both things well," she said of her decision GILLIAN to resign. "My family has been really patient over TUCK KUTARNA the years, but something had to go." Tuck Kutarna said she was sad to leave the board. "I'm really sad to go. I really love what we do here," she said. Fellow trustees at the board table expressed their sorrow at seeing their colleague leave. "I've always thought Gillian provided a very firm foundation to stand," said board chair Don Vrooman. "I'm going to miss you at this table, Trustee Tuck Kutarna." The school board has a couple options for the replacement of the outgoing trustee. One option is to have an election, at the board's expense. The other option is to fill the seat through an appointment through an applicant interview process. Students say thanks to war veterans The 10th annual Georgetown Candlelight Tribute was held Thursday at Remembrance Park in which hundreds of Halton Hills elementary school students paid tribute to war veterans and peacekeepers by placing a candle at the base of the cenotaph. Here, Second World War veteran Del Hickling of Acton received thanks for his contribution to the war. The annual Silent Walks were held the same night in Georgetown and Acton To view a photo gallery of the Candlelight Tribute go to www.theifp.ca/photos/.
