Acton child on bike collides with car For the third time in the past several weeks a child has been involved in a collision in Acton. Halton Police report a 12-year-old boy on a bicycle rode into the side of a vehicle at Mill St. E. and Wallace St. in Acton about 8:55 a.m. Thursday. Police say the driver of the vehicle was stopped at the intersection and proceeded with a right hand turn when the cyclist who was riding on the sidewalk and had no brakes on his bike, struck the car. Police say the cyclist was not seriously injured and suffered a scraped shin. The incident was a case of rider error say police and no charges will be laid. On April 12, an Acton girl was injured when she ran out from between two parked cars on Kingham Rd. and was hit by a pickup truck. On April 10, a kindergarten student was struck by a vehicle as she crossed Acton Blvd. outside of McKenzie-Smith Bennett School. The girl was knocked down but wasn't injured.
