4 ·The IFP· Halton Hills ·Thursday, June 14, 2012 Fire Truck fundraiser Pull Sacré Coeur earns upgrades The computer lab at Ecolé Sacré Coeur in Georgetown South will soon get some upgrades thanks to the efforts of students and staff on environmental projects over the past five years. Sacré Coeur entered the nation-wide Recycle for Education contest sponsored by Staples Canada that asked some 300 schools to share their forward-thinking eco-initiatives and the Georgetown South school was one of 20 grand-prize winners that will receive $25,000 each in tech products. Over the years, Sacré Coeur students have planted trees and a vegetable garden, overhauled their recycling and composting practices and the upcoming projects include installing solar panels in the roof of the school and planting wheat. Four Grade 4 students on the Sacré Coeur environmental committee in particular (pictured above, from left) Patrick Ready, Joey Dagostino, Maxime Marinier and Zoelie Ciloglu spearheaded the effort to win the Recycle for Education contest.
