Risk Watch Blitz set for June 18, 19 Committee honours Fire captain Dave Ford The 10th annual Risk Watch Blitz returns to Gellert Centre, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, June 18 and 19. The public is invited to join the about 1,100 Halton Hills elementary school children who will be attending over the two days. Risk Watch is an injury prevention program developed for Jr. Kindergarten to Grade 8 students by the National Fire Protection Association. "It is an outdoor carnival type event, with interactive activities for children to assist them in teaching them safe behaviours," said Deputy Fire Chief Harry Olivieri. The event includes first aid/CPR with Halton EMS, bicycle safety with Halton Police, railway safety with Obie the train and CN Police, rollover simulator with the OPP. Halton Hills Fire Department, GO Transit and RCMP will also be in attendance. Boating, water safety, fire prevention, ATVs and farm equipment will also be addressed.
