IN ACTON 2012 Halton Seniors' Directory available Seniors, families and caregivers in Halton will be pleased to learn that Halton Region's Elder Services Advisory Committee (ESAC) has updated the Halton Seniors' Directory and it is now available in the community. The Halton Seniors' Directory provides listings and contact information for a range of programs and services that are available to seniors in Halton. "The directory is a great resource for seniors in Halton and it is an important way we can help to connect seniors, their families and caregivers with services in the community," said Regional Chair Gary Carr. "On behalf of Regional Council, I'd like to thank ESAC for the great work they do to compile the information for the directory and the service providers in our community that help us distribute the directory in Halton." The Halton Seniors' Directory contains important information about services provided to seniors in Halton by various levels of government, service clubs, non-profit and community based agencies. Key categories in the 2012 directory include community information; financial aid programs; home and community support programs; housing; legal services; leisure and education; multicultural programs; safety; support groups/ counselling services; and transportation. The Halton Seniors' Directory is an action item identified in The Citizens' Priorities Plan ­ Halton Region's 2011-2014 Action Plan. ESAC is distributing the directory to various organizations in Halton so that seniors, families and caregivers can pick up a copy of the directory from their local seniors' centre, library, the Community Care Access Centre, and municipal offices.
