Looking to the future, Globe to hold Summer Musical Theatre Camp for kids Globe Productions is holding its first annual Summer Musical Theatre Camp for kids, ages 8 to 13. This is a two-week program (weekdays July 16-27), focusing on acting, singing, dancing and performing some of the songs with choreography from the musical, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. The camp will take place at Globe's new home, The Old Armoury, just inside the Georgetown Fairgrounds gates. All proceeds from the camp go towards the renovation of this 1866 building. The camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with extended hours available (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at an additional cost. Camp fees of $400 include a trip to Stratford on July 24th to see You're A Good Man Charlie Brown. Globe's President Lois Fraser says, "There is a huge interest in musical theatre for kids. The sellout of our May youth production of Annie and capacity numbers at our Saturday youth workshop series last fall, proves that parents and kids support this activity. With our spring 2013 production of Disney's Aladdin auditioning late this fall, the more kids we give training to, the better!" The camp will be run by Joanna Fraser, who has 18 years dance experience, Grade 8 in voice and three years education at Sheridan College's Musical Theatre program. Her assistant is Victoria Fraser, who has 10 years experience in singing, 14 years in dance and extensive drama training.
