12 THE NEW TANNER Legion news Branch no. 197 By Sharon Graham P.R.O. Comrades, On February 13 the members that run the euchre on Friday nights presented two cheques to the Acton 197 Typhoon Air Cadets and Compass Rose Navy Cadets. On behalf of the branch we thank you. A sure sign that spring is in the air with the weather getting a bit warmer through the day. In a couple of weeks it will be time to put the clocks ahead. Spring officially arrives in just three weeks. Our next general meeting will be held on March 12, at 8 p.m., for all members. There will be a St. Patty's Day Dance with Ronnie and the Corvairs on March 16. You just need to mark your calendar. The dance will be held in the games room. Well it is time to get your Irish up and dress in all your green. This is a dance for all members and guests to come out and have a great time. We hope to see you all there and remember to wear green. It is a great time to be Irish. THURSDAY, MARCH 1 2012 CADET CHEQUES: On behalf of the Acton Legion's Friday night euchre players, Ross Britton (left) and "Henni" presented two cheques totalling $750 to Legion past-president Wes Kutasienski who accepted them on behalf of Acton's Air and the Navy Cadets. Submitted photo We carry all major brands Best New aNd Used tire deals!
