Nominated by supporters, the award winners ­ all Chamber members ­ were selected by a panel of judges for four awards, including the Green Award, Employee of the Year award, Entrepreneur of the Year award and the Business of the Year. ­ Photos by Ted Tyler TOP EMPLOYEE: Christian Kelman (right), Acton TD Canada Trust Customer Relations Coordinator received the Employee of the Year award from Chamber Chair Kathleen Dills for her significant contributions to the excellence of their company through exceptional customer service. TOP BUSINESS: Herminia Henderson, representing Georgetown Market Place, accepted the Business of the Year award from Prosperity One CEO and President Mike Shepherd. The award recognizes a business that has made significant social and economic contributions to the community, displays good business ethics and excels in customer service. ACE ENTREPRENEUR: Valarie Leachman (left) owner of the Way We Were consignment shop, garnered the Entrepreneur of the Year award in recognition of her good business ethics, superior customer service and innovation and creativity. She accepted the award from Chamber chair Kathleen Dills. G R E E N AWA R D : Members of Heritage Acton received the Chamber's Green Award for environmental preservation through their conservation efforts in the restoration of the Acton Town Hall Centre.
