The title ended a long OMHA title drought for the Tanners organization that stretched all the way back to the 2004-05 season. In the finale, legions of rabid Tanners fans made the trek to Erin and packed the stands to the rafters Novice BB Tanners are OMHA champs to cheer the team in their pursuit of the elusive OMHA title. Acton jumped into the lead when Jaret Rosenburg danced around one defenseman and sent a cross-ice feed to Matthew Geim who blasted it fivehole. After the Devils tied it up, Riley Drexler pounced on a loose puck and deftly lifted it over the Devils' keeper to take the lead back. In the third, Jackson Phillips stripped the puck off an Erin defender, found his way to the net and lit the lamp before following up with an empty netter for insurance. Jared Pike and Tieneke Gedge fore checked ferociously and Thomas Holmes, James Palmer, Laek Swain, Jordan Caruso and Beniot Cuerrier were pillars on defence in stymieing the high powered Devils offence in front of Lantz as Acton closed out the series in five games. Following the 3-2 loss in game three, the Tanners came out firing and opened up a 5-0 lead after two and netted two more in the third for a decisive 7-3 victory. Scoring for Acton were Phillips (2G,3A), Drexler (G,2A), Geim, Evan Ashe, Owen Kennedy & Rosenburg (1G,1A each). Caruso and Cuerrier each had a helper. Matthew Lantz and Chris Harriott split the net minding duties to share the win.
