16 THE NEW TANNER NEW SENIORS' BOARD: A new Board of directors for the Acton Seniors Centre was elected at last week's annual general meeting. Bev also introduced the board. The Centre's Co-ordinator Wendy Krever made a very catchy and interesting budget presentation explaining where the monies raised at the Centre come from and where they go. She also explained both the Seniors budget and the Town Operating budget. Wendy said she would welcome any questions you might have if you were unable to attend. She also explained the need for Accreditation. It is very time consuming, but necessary, and our future funding will rely on gaining accreditation. The Seniors Centre staff is also working their way through mountains of paper work to gain accreditation. There were several vacant positions on the board and a new board member Joan Blight was elected to the Program Chair. Real Teatreault will remain on as Social Chair, Connie Fix as Secretary, Pat Frizzell at Treasurer, and Julie Conroy as Public Relations chair. These are all two-year terms.
