THURSDAY, APRIL 26, 2012 Last Wednesday, Local Food Plus (LFP) presented Halton Region with a certificate of achievement for 2011 Local Sustainable Food Procurement. This award shows that Halton is meeting its commit ment to local sustainable food procurement at the Region's cafeteria, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, supporting Ontario's regional farming economy, creating jobs and protecting the environment for Halton Region residents. "We are proud to have achieved our local food Halton Region commited to Local Food Fire Report procurement goal," said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr.
