Doctor search continues As Halton Region celebrated Physician A p p r e c i a t i o n We e k this week, the search continued in Acton for additional family practitioners to help the very busy three existing doctors who are looking for some relief. "The doctors in Acton all have taken on patients of retiring physicians and they'd like to add a fourth full-time physician," H a l t o n 's P h y s i c i a n Recruitment officer, Angela Sugden-Praysner said on Monday. She said there recently was a doctor who was "remotely interested" in locating in Acton, but that person changed their mind, and they are still looking for the right person to join doctors at the Acute Care Centre. Physician Apprec i a t i o n We e k w a s established in 2003 by the Halton Physician Recruitment program. Attracting new physicians to Halton continues as a priority in Halton's Citizens' Priorities Action Plan. The Physician Recruitment program addresses both current physician needs and the needs of the future. Halton's goal is one family doctor for every Halton resident and recruitment efforts since 2003 have attracted 160 new family doctors to the Region.
