Show time is Tuesday, May 15 at 1 p.m. I think this will be a very popular movie. Tickets are available for the next social dinner on Tuesday, May 15. It is always fun. This month it has an Italian theme, with lasagna, caesar salad, a surprise desert, and an excellent crooner, Martin Chan to entertain us. Members who joined the Centre in the past six months will receive an invitation in the mail inviting them to our New Members Tea, on May 29 at 2 p.m. This is their chance to find out what the Seniors Centre has to offer them, and they will get the chance to meet the Seniors Centre's 2012 Board members. On Saturday, May 12 starting at 11 a.m., we will hold our annual Spring Bazaar. There will be lots of delicious baking and sweet treats for you to purchase ready for Mothers Day, which is the next day. A bus full of excited seniors took off for Stage West on Wednesday morning to enjoy the buffet lunch and see Men in Black. When mosquito larvae are found, the Health Department uses larvicide to control mosquito larvae in order to reduce the incidence of West Nile virus in Halton. Larvicide will be applied by a licensed applicator contracted by the Region. Larviciding in standing Water Larviciding of standing water may occur anytime from May 16 to October 31, 2012 once monitoring indicates that mosquito larvae are present. The Halton Region Health Department will apply larvicide to standing water sites under the direction of the Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Bob Nosal. The biological larvicide VectoBac 200G (PCP# 18158, granular) or VectoBac 1200L (PCP# 21062, liquid) will be placed in affected standing water on public lands in urban areas in The City of Burlington, The Town of Halton Hills, The Town of Milton, and the Town of Oakville. Signs will be posted at each location indicating when the larvicide is applied. Larviciding in catch Basins Larviciding of catch basins may begin anytime from June 1 to October 31, 2012 once monitoring indicates that mosquito larvae are present.
