8 Celebrating 40 years in the priesthood THE NEW TANNER THURSDAY, MAY 17, 2012 Photos by Ted Tyler A t t h e To w n H a l l Center on Sunday night the community gathered to celebrate Father Bob's 40 years in the priesthood. Peggy Graham delivered a roast, after Father Bob personally requested that she "say bad things about him." During her well received remarks, Peggy poked fun at several other members of the community as she told a b o u t : F a t h e r B o b 's childhood, "he would put a blanket around him like a cape... and pretend he was the Pope"; his weekly hangouts with the ladies at the Starlight Cafe; and his lack of punctuality or is that his forgetfulness? Perhaps most notable of her remarks was her joke about Father Bob on vacation in Panama and her stressing that the story didn't really happen because "people think my jokes are real and I don't want this story in the Tanner in the Grapevine section that Father was looking at good looking blondes on his holidays.... Or maybe I do!" Summing up her roast, she praised Father Bob for his work in town and his 40 years in the priesthood and wished him the best at his new post.
