10 THE NEW TANNER THURSDAY, MAY 31, 2012 Well the Acton Seniors Centre is certainly jumping into the new electronic age. Everyone entering the Centre is now comfortable signing in electronically, so everyone's hours whether volunteering, enjoying programs, trips, and visits can be easily tallied. During the summer we will be holding computer classes on our lap top computers. Now the final touch, starting on June 4 there will be a web site www.haltonhills.ca/ seniors where you can find current information on both the Acton and Georgetown Senior 's Centres. I hope you find it informative, easy to navigate, and your questions answered. For any comments on the Centre, there is a red box near where you sign in, just waiting for your suggestions, or thoughts on improvements that could possibly make visiting the Centre more worthwhile. Now the weather is getting warmer, the Centre is a nice cool spot to visit. On Fridays, we offer a delicious lunch, so you can not only enjoy lunch, but enjoy meeting new and old friends. If you enjoy Bingo you can stay after lunch and try your luck. You do need to sign up for lunch so Joyce and her helpers know how many to prepare for. If you are unable to visit the Centre, all you need to do is pick up the phone and call 519-8535951 and ask reception to add your name to the lunch list. Thinking of bingo, we will be holding another bingo evening on Saturday, June 23 starting at 7 p.m. This is open to everyone and we hope to see many of you there. I see the travel group have a list up for a lovely trip to Drayton to see The Perfect Wedding on July 3. She received a cheque for $67.50. The amount is small this week, as it has been won every week for the past 6 weeks, which means 135 members have smartened up and are remembering to add their loonie and name to the box when they visit.
