As the warm days of summer come to a close, we start planning for "back to school" activities. We all know what that means for the kids but what about you? Your local Adult Learning Centre has been busy preparing a number of programs that offer adults in the community the opportunity to improve their academic skills. We offer a supportive adult learning environment in a small class setting. all year long to adults who need to upgrade their skills in reading, writing and math on a one-to-one or small group basis. Essential Skills Computer Training for the Workplace: Learn with a small group to master basic computer skills and access on-line learning - part time either day or evening. Sheridan ACE Program: our parttime classes are offered by Sheridan professors on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings in Georgetown. Upgrading in Math, English, Biology and Chemistry. The Sheridan ACE certificate is accepted by all Ontario colleges. More recently students are coming in from local businesses to upgrade their skills ready to take an Apprenticeship entrance test with their employer. Free assessment to determine suitability, however a small registration fee will apply.
