Have your say on what Town will look like in 2060 Residents, businesses and organizations are urged to comment on the latest draft of the Community Sustainability Strategy that imagines Halton Hills in 50 years time. The draft Strategy for 2060 centers around a long-term community vision for Halton Hills that will lead to a more prosperous future with a thriving economy and healthy neighbourhoods, all contributing to an even higher quality of life. The draft vision reads: "In 2060, the urban and rural communities of Halton Hills balance economic prosperity with a deep commitment to the natural environment, while retaining viable local agriculture and smalltown feel, and being socially equitable, culturally vibrant and strongly connected." "Thanks to the dedication of the Town Sustainability Advisory Committee and the wealth of input received from our community, the Community Sustainability Strategy will help shape the future of Halton Hills over the next 50 years," said Mayor Rick Bonnette. "It will help set priorities and guide the completion of key Town plans, policies, studies and various other initiatives. The overarching objective will be to ensure that everyone in Halton Hills enjoys an even higher quality of life, where our businesses and neighbourhoods thrive. "As we near the Strategy's completion, we will reach out to a wide variety of community partners in order to jointly advance the Strategy's implementation," he added. "We look forward to taking action on this important blueprint for our community's future." The community vision is supported by four distinct `pillars' that address four key areas that are crucial to the long-term well being of Halton Hills: economic prosperity; environmental health; social well-being; and cultural vitality.
