New parking rules near schools Continued from pg. 2 · A no parking zone in front of the school was removed to allow on-street parking and encourage children to exit the car directly onto the school grass boulevard. · Speed limit on Queen St. (Hwy. 7) will be reduced from 60 km/h to 50 km/h between the east limit of Churchill Rd. to the east limit of Tanners Dr. Harrison Public School · No stopping zone for restricted times will be installed on the west side of Rexway Dr., from Shelley St. to MacKenzie Dr. Again this was done to eliminate the potential of children darting across the road to the school property. · A no parking zone was removed on the east side of Rexway north of the school parking lot to make it safer for kids to exit their vehicles. · No parking zone was removed on the west side of Rexway Dr. from a point 98 metres north of Delrex Blvd. to a point 177 metres north of Delrex and replaced with a no stopping zone. St. Catherine of Alexandria School · A no stopping zone for restricted time will be installed on the west side of Barber Dr., from Argyll Rd. E. to Niagara Trail-- again to eliminate children being dropped off on the opposite side of the street and darting into traffic. · The speed limit on Barber Dr., from Argyll Rd. E. to Danby Rd. E. will be reduced from 50 to 40 km/h due to the existing school zone. Gardiner Public School · A no stopping zone for restricted times will be installed on the south side of Danby Rd. W., from Barber Dr. to a point 75 m west of Silver Pond Dr. Hopefully this will encourage further use of the Gardiner Public School dropoff area. Stewarttown Public School · A no stopping zone for restricted time will be installed on the north side of 15 Sideroad, from a point 71 metres east of Trafalgar Rd. to a point 136 metres east of Trafalgar Rd. This was done to increase student safety and ease traffic congestion in front of the school. Other traffic changes, unrelated to the schools include: · Speed limit reduction on Rosefield Dr., from 50-40 km/h between Delrex Blvd. and Hall Rd. · Addition of a Heavy Vehicle Prohibition from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Five Sideroad between Fourth Line and Winston Churchill Blvd. due to deteriorating pavement and noise concerns. · No Parking Zone on the east side of Third Line, from a point 70 metres south of 32 Sideroad to a point 194 metres south of 32 Sideroad. The aim is to reduce the potential of rear-end collisions between vehicles travelling on Third Line in the northbound direction approaching 32 Sideroad and vehicles parked on the east side of Third Line. 5 ·The IFP· Halton Hills, Tuesday, September 4, 2012 PHYSIOTHERAPY Now offering early morning and evening appointments - call us!
