The Acton Seniors Centre would like to offer condolences to the family of Ruby Michie who passed away on May 26. She enjoyed the lunch and bingo on Fridays. Her friends who sat near her at Bingo will miss her. The person whose name was drawn had not put her loonie in the box, so next week the prize money should be around $140. By Julie Conroy The New Members Tea was well attended, with 16 new members and six guests. Marie Anderson and Marie Zions-Fryer entertained us with some old time favourites. Membership Chair Delores Wright welcomed everyone and introduced the Board members. The Acton Seniors Centres coordinator Wendy Krever gave a little insight on information available in the New Members Folders and the various programs and other activities at the Centre and in the Region. Everyone enjoyed the light luncheon and meeting new people. On Wednesday, May 30, 16 Georgetown Seniors Centre members, and 20 Acton Seniors Centre members and friends enjoyed golf at Blue Springs on the Academy Course. Following a delicious lunch some energetic people went out to GOOD GOLF: Thirty six Acton and Georgetown Senior Centre members and friends enjoyed perfect weather at their semi-annual golf game at Blue Springs Golf Course last Wednesday.
