On Monday, June 17, 40 members and friends are going to Mohawk to enjoy the buffet dinner and the races. I know some will slip downstairs later to enjoy playing the slots. On Tuesday, June 19, at 2 p.m., we will be celebrating the birthdays of all members who were born in either June or July and on Saturday, June 23, starting at 7 p.m. we will have our second evening of playing Bingo. All Bingo players are invited. I know everyone enjoyed the last one. Refreshments will be available. By Julie Conroy The trip to the Drayton Festival Theatre to see A Perfect Wedding had to be cancelled due to lack of interest. The arrangements have to be made at least four weeks ahead to reserve seats. If you would like information on trips that will be happening in the next few months, please call 519-853-5951, and the receptionist will be happy to tell you what trips are planned. Every Monday and Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. to noon, a representative is at the travel desk available to answer any questions. There is a trip planned on Thursday, July 12. H a l t o n h a s o ff e r e d e-waste recycling to residents since 2002, and partnered with OES in April 2009, allowing the Region to make the recycling of e-waste more convenient for residents by providing a free recycling location for e-waste at Halton Region's landfill site. "Working with Ontario Elec t r o n i c S t e w a r d ship has provided our community with a convenient and efficient way to ensure electronics are diverted from Halton's landfill site," said Gary Carr, Halton's Regional Chair. "Being recognized by OES as one of the top three municipal electronics recyclers is a testament to the hard work of our Halton residents who continue to participate in all of the Region's waste diversion programs in order to help protect the environment." The ongoing efforts from Halton residents to properly recycle their electronics through Halton Region's programs have played a major role in helping OES collect more than 100,000-tonnes of electronics from municipalities ­ that's more than 16-pounds of e-waste per person in Ontario in just three years.
