THURSDAY, JULY 26, 2012 THE NEW TANNER 7 Fire Report Due to the extended dry weather, a burn ban remains in place in Halton Hills. CO activation Acton firefighters advised some Kingham Road homeowners to air out and clean their carbon monoxide detector after it sounded at 11:48 on Sunday morning. The homeowners did not display any symptoms of CO exposure. Breakfast burned Burnt toast activated a monitored smoke alarm in a Nelson Court residence at 10:47 on Saturday morning. While responding, Acton firefighters were alerted to the fact that it was a false alarm. They checked out the house and confirmed all was well before returning to the station. Barbecue burn Firefighters advised an Acton Boulevard homeowner to clean the debris from the bottom of a barbecue after it burst into flames at 2:02 last Friday afternoon. The fire in the natural gas barbecue was out when firefighters arrived on the scene, and there were no injuries. Illegal burn When Acton firefighters arrived at a property on Highway 25 in the 32 Side Road area at 3:40 last Thursday, they found the homeowners who realized too late that there was a total outdoor burn ban in place extinguishing a backyard fire. Crews made sure the fire was out before returning to the station. Is Open Again!
