10 THE NEW TANNER THURSDAY,AUGUST 23, 2012 Township of Guelph / Eramosa announces Cenotaph Rededication Council and Staff extend an invitation to attend the Rededication Service of the newly renovated Rockwood Cenotaph site. In conjunction with a generous grant from the Veterans Affairs Canada Community War Memorial Program and in-kind donation from Drexler Construction Ltd.; the renovation of the Cenotaph site will honour the history of the site, preserve the current monument and will create landscape changes to ensure that the Rockwood monument remains an accessible place of remembrance for generations to come. The rededication service will be held on the 93rd anniversary of the Cenotaph unveiling which was held on August 29, 1919. Participants will assemble at 10:30 a.m. on the corner of Guelph Street and Church Street in Rockwood, where members of the Guelph Legion CENOTAPH CONSTRUCTION: Construction crews are working hard to complete the renovations to the Rockwood Cenotaph for a Rededication Service which will be held Wednesday, August 29 at 10:30 a.m. ­ Marie Shadbolt photo (Br. 234) Colour Party will lead the procession to the Cenotaph.
