Murder charge laid in fatal Rockwood stabbing Xhevahir Myftari, the 36-year-old Rockwood man charged with first degree murder in the death of an unidentified Rockwood woman, apparently stabbed to death on Monday night in her Gamble Lane residence, was appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice yesterday (Wednesday) and was remanded in custody until a German-speaking interpreter is available. OPP said the victim and accused were known to each other there are unconfirmed reports they were brother and sister-inlaw and had lived in the upscale neighbourhood since 2006. No word if anyone else lived in the home, but one unidentified neighbour s a i d t h e v i c t i m 's husband did not live at the residence. The neighbour confirmed the accused was the victim's brother-in-law, and described the accused as a "schizophrenic." Myftari was arrested without incident by Peel police after a man fled the scene on Monday night in a silver BMW. On Wednesday, results of the post-mortem were not known, and police continue to restrict car and pedestrian movement on Gamble Lane to residents.
