She was predeceased by Anthony Grant and is survived by her husband Tom and her sister Anne Hood. She will be missed by her daughters: Karen, Annette, Lynn and Kirsty and her sons-in-law Steve, Dave, John and Roger, as well as her grandchildren: Michael, Chantel, Jacob, Liam, Lucas, Kirstan, Cory, Iain, Zachary and Erika. Edward Alexander Sokolowski, husband of the late Thelma Smyth (1999) of Campbellville, formerly of New Toronto. Loving father of Melanie and John MacLeod of Erin and Michelle Sokolowski of Mississauga. Dear grandfather of Elena and Brian, Kira, Laura and Alan, Carolyn, the late Trystan (1993) and great grandson, Brayden. Survived by sisters Anne Gordon and Jennie O'Keefe. Edward had a long and full life. After WWII, when he served in the US Merchant Marines as a navigator, he played semi-pro baseball in the US and Canada. He brought his family to Canada living in Toronto and Campbellville working for the Toronto Transit Commission for over 20 years. He was awarded the Order of Canada for rescuing a boy from the icy waters of the Humber River in 1972. As were Edward's wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no public service. He was much loved by his family and friends and will be missed greatly. "He will be part of the rays now."
