The hikers gather at the Centre every Friday morning at 10 a.m., to hike for about two hours the various trails in the area. Once the clocks change they will start their hikes at 1 p.m. On Monday morning, there were several new faces joining the craft group. They are starting to make crafts for the upcoming Christmas Bazaar. If you bought wool intending to start a project and have changed your mind, the craft ladies would love to have the wool, (large or small amounts) or material they could use for aprons etc. Our Fall Fashion show, featuring fashions by Alia, will be on Tuesday, October 9. Plan to purchase your ticket and see what the latest fashions and colours are for the Fall and Winter seasons. There will be refreshments and prizes. Due to vacations and illness we didn't have the usual full house at the semi-annual golf game at Blue Springs on Wednesday, September 19. The weather was perfect, sunny but cool, and everyone enjoyed the lunch. We are looking forward to next May when we have the next game. The Birthday tea was well attended last Tuesday. One lady was celebrating her 88th birthday. Eight leaves were placed on the branches this week to celebrate the lives of Joan and Vic Morris, Aspy Bapooji and Tony Wilson. This is a mystery trip, so who knows where you will end up. Not only will you be sight seeing and having lunch, but there will be a shopping opportunity also. Another great trip coming up on November 26 is Christmas Magic in Niagara with Bobby Vinton, followed by dinner at Betty's and a tour of the lights. Twenty-eight people made the trip to Mohawk on the yellow Tyler school bus last Monday. Hopefully, some people came home with a little more money in their pockets than when they a r r i v e d . We e n j o y e d watching the beautiful horse races while enjoying the buffet dinner. On Monday, October 1 the Centre will be celebrating National Seniors Day with free refreshments and cake through out the day. There will be a fantastic door prize and a Year in Review slide show. The Friday Lunch on October 5 will be pot luck, so bring your favourite dish to share with others.
