Atom AE Tanners bounce back The Acton Atom AE Tanners, sponsored by Drexler Construction and Chudleigh's, tasted defeat for the first time this season after a seven game undefeated stretch to open the season. But a week later, they regrouped to deliver their best performance of the early season. After the first game was delayed for almost an hour, the host Woolwich Wildcats jumped into the early lead before Evan Ashe slammed one in from Michael Haggett and Owen Kennedy. The teams traded goals until it was knotted 3-3 late in the third, when the Tanners began to run out of steam. Seeing this, the Wildcats pounced and potted two quick ones to stun the Tanners with their first loss. Tanner scoring was rounded out by goals from Haggett and Mike Jankowski, with helpers to Kennedy and Zach Timbers. A week later, the squad was fired up to bounce back from the loss as it hosted Erin-Hillsburgh. In a brilliant display of passing and team play, it was all Tanners from the opening draw. Haggett and Jankowski led the way offensively with each notching a hat trick before Aydin Reddeman streaked down the wing and slipped one through the goalie to cap the 7-1 Acton win. Drawing assists were Kennedy (3), Reddeman, Thomas Holmes and Matthew Geim. Chris Harriott picked up the win in the Tanner cage. The team finishes up a home and home set with New Hamburg this Saturday at 5:30 p.m., at Acton arena. St. Albans Silent Auction & Dance Theme: Halloween - come dressed in your Best Costume! Date: Oct. 27, 2012 Time: 7:00pm Atom BB Win Silver The TRENDZ/Dufferin Aggregate Atom BB Acton Tanners have started their season 7-0 and were looking to continue their winning ways at the Huronia Tournament in Collingwood. Things started well, with wins over Collingwood (3-1) and Thorold (7-1), before a tough Dorchester team beat the Tanners 1-0. This setup a must win game against Stirling which the Tanners won 3-0. Connor Brearley earned the shut out. The final game was looking like another 1-0 win for Dorchester, but Nolan Cree converted a clever pass from Eric Marrows to tie the game 1-1 with three minutes to go. Acton pressed for the winner but a bad bounce lead to a breakaway goal for Dorchester, with just seven seconds to go. The Atom BB Tanners goalies Matthew Lantz and Brearley, and defence of Brett Hilts, Roberto Ferraioli, Zach Booth, Tristan Wight, and Tyler Bartels played strong, as Acton allowed only five goals in five games. Scoring for the Tanners were Cree (4G 5A), Spencer Booth (3G 3A), Marrows (2G 2A), Hilts (2G), Zach Knight (1G 2A), Gabe Rowsell (1G 1A), Brady Worthman (1G 1A), Ferraioli (2A), Stuart Macdonald (1A) Brandon Hatt (1A) and Jackson Phillips (1A).
