This is an incredible Las Vegas style magical revue. After you board the bus for the return journey home we will sit back and enjoy driving through the Niagara Festival of Lights. For more information, talk to the travel desk on a Monday or Friday morning, or pop in and pick up a yellow leaflet with all the details. Seniors love to travel and the travel insurance information morning on Tuesday, October 16 was well attended. Stacey Aarssen with Better Travel Insurance was very informative, guiding us through some of the pitfalls to be found when purchasing travel insurance. There is an information sheet at the Centre for those interested. The Bazaar committee is very busy making sure they have thought of everything needed to ensure a successful Christmas Bazaar. If you love to bake dainty goodies suitable for the tea table, there is a sign up sheet for this purpose. At the moment there are only two names down. To make it a successful tea we need more of the wonderful baking seniors love to create. The list of donations for the tea table still has a few gaps. There is a drawer in the credenza for any non perishable items for the tea table. If you would like MAGIC FINGERS: During the open house Dr. Frances Turk made patient Lynn Trevisan's back feel much better. Ted Tyler photo to volunteer your help on that day, please let Sylvia Mitchell know. There were twelve new members at the New Members Information Tea when Simon Hickson made a brief presentation about the Centre, accompanied by a slide show. The 2012 board members introduced themselves, and everyone enjoyed the sandwiches, goodies and meeting new people. Thirty-three people enjoyed the last Friday lunch, and over thirty people played Bingo later in the afternoon, the most people to play Bingo since June. The Friday lunch on November 2 will be squash soup, sandwiches and dessert. Don't forget to sign up before Wednesday at 3 p.m., so we can make sure there is sufficient food for everyone. If you suddenly find you can come on a Friday morning please feel free to call to see if there has been a last minute cancellation. There was a large group playing cards on Thursday morning and listening to the "chatter" they were having a great time. At Bid Euchre in the afternoon Frances Hogenbirk had two mooners and Elma Braida and Joan Bateman each had one. The group that went to Seneca, Niagara, for the day enjoyed themselves. I don't know if they returned with more money than they took, but Betty McLeod was happy to win the 50/50 on the bus. If you are celebrating a birthday in October or November, expect a call from the program committee inviting you and a guest to the Birthday tea on Tuesday, November 6. Gals on the Go are considering a trip to Guelph Little Theatre to see Calendar Girls in May. If you are interested sign the appropriate sheet. The name drawn on Friday for the weekly 50/50 had not put his loonie in the box, so next week the lucky winner will win around $150. By Julie Conroy It is not very often you hear of a price going down, but the trip to the Rockway Glen Estate Winery has been reduced by $15.
