Coffee for a Cause Ronald McDonald will help generate some much-needed money for two local fundraising campaigns over the next five years. On Monday, Tim and Casey O'Connor who own A c t o n 's M c D o n a l d 's and two restaurants in Georgetown, announced they will donate $25,000 t o b o t h t h e To w n 's Stay Home and Play in Halton Hills arena fundraising campaign which includes twinning the Acton arena and quadding the Mold Masters SportsPlex ice rinks and to the capital campaign for the new Georgetown library and Cultural Centre and $100,000 in upgrades to the new Acton library branch. Over the next five years, 10-cents from the sale of coffee and hot McCafe beverages served at the Acton and Georgetown McDonald's, is earmarked for the campaigns. As well, until Sunday, 100 per cent of the proceeds from the sale of $5 Buy One, Get One booklets will go towards the fundraising initiatives for both projects. The fundraisers were announced at the Guelph Street McDonald's with help from Ronald McDonald who read aloud and played air hockey with local politicians and the chairs of both fundraising campaigns.
