16 Survey says... Halton Region is developing the first Regional Active Transportation Plan to make it easier for Halton residents to walk, bike and roll across Halton. To complement feedback provided by residents at public meetings, Halton Region has launched a short online survey on its webpage www.halton.ca/activetransportation for people to complete about their active transportation habits. "Having an online survey that people can complete quickly allows us to better understand what matters to the people who live, work, raise a family and retire in Halton," said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr. "As we move forward with more people choosing to live in Halton, it's important that we look at ways to get people out of their cars. THE NEW TANNER THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 29, 2012 Designing a network of safe, connected and convenient routes will give people greater choices about how they can travel in our Region." The first Regional Active Transportation Master Plan will help connect com munities, making it easier for people to walk, bike and roll around Halton. By looking at ways to improve existing infrastructure, identifying opportunities to promote active transportation, and working with residents, Halton will be able to develop the best possible active transportation system. Residents can tell Regional staff what's important by: visiting www. halton.ca/activetransportation and completing the survey; emailing activetransportation@halton.ca or dialling 311.
