Don't drink and drive Acton High School students will get to blow into roadside screening devices, wear impairment simulator goggles and talk about the consequences of mixing alcohol or drugs with operating a motor vehicle at Halton police RIDE 101 program on December 14. RIDE 101 is part of the annual Halton police Holiday R.I.D.E. Campaign which kicks off December 4 at an Oakville High School. The RIDE 101 program will be offered at high schools throughout the Region in December. During the day, they team up with police officers to explore the pitfalls of impaired driving. It is unclear at this point if the evening part of the RIDE 101 program will take place in Acton. It includes student council members assisting officers at R.I.D.E spot check locations, handing out pamphlets and "Think of Me" cards, hand-drawn and coloured by Halton Grade 4, 5 and 6 students.
