Peewee AE Tanners edge Erin/Hillsburgh On Sunday, the getconnected.ca Tanners Peewee AE team faced cross town rivals Erin/Hillsburgh Devils for another entertaining match. It was the last game of a busy threegame weekend. The boys faced two tough games against New Hamburg and were hungry for a win. The Tanners opened the scoring early against Erin with a pass from Jake Case to Brian Secord who fired one over the goalie's shoulder. The Acton defence, led by Ryan McCaskill and Chase Thomas, held Erin off the scoreboard in the first. Erin got the only goal in the second period to tie the game. The Tanners had impressive team work and passing to open the scoring in the third period. Defenseman Jacob Coleman worked up the boards to get the puck across the red line and then fed it to Parker Jones who was in front of the net. Ethan Constable stuffed the puck under the goalie's pads to put the Tanners back ahead for the night. Jake Case made a great individual effort to keep the puck in the Erin end, and then fed to Hunter McCauley for the third goal. Erin fought back to get within one. Thanks to the hard work of Martin, Montini, Bachert, and goalie Matt Adkins, the Tanners were able to hold Erin in their own end and get the win. NIMBLE AGAINST NEW HAMBURG: The Peewee AE getconnected.ca Tanners' goalie Matthew Adkins fought off a scramble in a 3-2 win over New Hamburg on the weekend. Submitted photo
