Pewee BB's pick up two points The HUB InternationalTri Form Concrete Peewee BB Tanners travelled to Georgetown to take on the Raiders, their cross town rivals. Jakob Cunningham got this barn burner started, scoring unassisted mid-way through the first. The Raiders scored late in the period to tie things up at one. Georgetown came out flying in the second when they scored early and often. Jake Molinaro banged home a rebound from Nic Jones to give the Tanners some hope as the second period ended 4-2 Raiders. In the third period, Daniel Nascimento set up Jones, who made no mistake to close the gap to 4-3. Shortly after, Georgetown scored again to put them up by two. Jones then scored a controversial goal and Nascimento sent in Devon Muise all alone, to tie the game at five. The Raiders took the lead once again when they scored with just over a minute left in the game. As Georgetown was getting ready to celebrate the victory, Michael Holmes worked hard along the boards and sent the puck over to Jones, who completed the trick to tie things up at six. Jack Coulighan made one last big save in the final seconds to ensure that the Tanners picked up the point and a tie. Acton also travelled to Elora to take on the Centre Wellington Fusion. The Tanners were the only team to score in the first period when Nascimento fed a pass to Jon Bydevaate, who roofed it. Jones also picked up a point on the play. The Fusion scored in the second period which ended tied at one. Early in the third period, Nascimento buried a Bydevaate rebound to give Acton a 2-1 lead, Muise also earned a point on goal. Centre Wellington tied the game late in the third. Ricky Villa and the Tanners defensemen had to play their best to guard their net for a 2-2 tie. Soares scored three goals and had three assists in the game. Submitted photo Kroezen earns five points In Acton Ladies Hockey Smooth & Trendzy defeated Tanner's Pub & Grill 6-3. Smooth & Trendzy lead 3-0 after the first period and never looked back, building a 6-1 lead in the third. Annette Kroezen had an ex c e p t io n a l g am e racking up five points including two goals and three assists. Nicholl Spence had a hat trick, with Tina McLeod chipping in a single. Evelyn Kamminga had two assists and Tracey Ferguson and McLeod had one a piece. Daina McKellar paced Tanners with two goals and one assist. Kathleen Bevan had the other goal. Bevan, Carolyn Adema and Belinda McDonald each had an assist. In the second game, Active Choice knocked off Acton Optical 4-1. Dana Selby and Angie Palmer each had a goal and an assist to lead Active Choice. Kim Nytrai and Connie Harrison rounded out the scoring for Active Choice, and Fiona Brown had a pair of helpers.
