Shirley was the wife of the late Jack Waites (1978) and the partner of Bob Taylor. She was the loving mother of: Ron Waites, Jan Trottier (Patrick), Ted Waites, Bill Waites, Mike Waites (Tanya), Dan Waites and Alex Waites (Monica). Shirley will also be missed by her grandchildren: Dustin, Erin, Joel, Dylan, Sean, Liane, Nicole, Summer, Spencer, Jack and Sandy and her great-grandchildren: Eva, Cavan, Olivia, Seph, Seanan, Vincent and Brigit. The family will receive friends at the MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill Street East, Acton on Friday, January 18th from noon until the funeral service, which will be conducted by the Rev. She was born on October 22, 1936 in Middleton, Nova Scotia, the daughter of George Angus Grant and Leafy Mae Grant. Peggy went to school in Middleton and at the age of eighteen and joined the RCAF in Trenton as a Leading Airwoman (LAW). Peggy was a wonderful mother who dedicated her life to raising and caring for her eight children and twelve grandchildren. She was an incredibly strong and caring woman who enjoyed, amongst many other things, family gatherings, her church group, walking, reading, knitting and being around children. Peggy is survived by her eight children: Lorne, Michael, Sharon, Kevin, David, Liane Robert and Sandra. Her twelve grandchildren: Justin, Jake, Sam, Quinn, Tyler, Jake, Lauren, Peter, Nicholas, Benjamin, Roseanne and Sierra. Her great grandchildren Nathaniel, Bradley, Liam and Joanna. Her son-in-law John Neil, and daughters-in-law Mare Borino and Lorna McGregor, as well as her brothers Douglas, Angus, Harold and George and her sisters Daisy, Shirley and Anna and by her numerous close friends.
