Come on out and watch some great hockey action. Peewee AEs sweep Erin-Hillsburgh Devils The getconnected.ca Peewee AE team won three games in a row and the win over ErinHillsburgh sent the team to the next round of the OMHA playdowns. The Tanners came out quickly and dominated. Lightning fast Luke Meihm worked the puck up the boards and passed in front of the net to Torin Martin then onto the stick of Dylan Palmer for the first goal. In under a minute, Cian Dumas flicked one over the Erin goalie's pad after help from line mates Ethan Constable and Brian Secord to take the Tanners ahead for the night. Palmer continued his solid performance with a solo drive into the Erin end to take the Tanners up 3-0. Still in the first period, Constable popped one over the goalie's shoulder after a quick feed from Dumas. Finishing off the first period scoring was Martin who fought through the Erin defence after pass from Tayden Bachert. Goalie Matt Adkins wasn't tested in the first period, but saw some action in the second period when Acton got into some penalty trouble and was short handed. Defensemen McAskill, Coleman and Thomas worked hard to keep Erin from making any more advances. Erin managed to score two goals in the second with the man advantage. Acton broke out in the third period with three more goals. Hard working Victor Montini got two on board with help from Constable, McCauley and Jones. Bachert got in on the action with another back and forth play in the Erin end assisted by Martin and Palmer. The 8-2 win was the Peewee's best scoring night of the year and capped off the best of five game series. It would also be the last time Acton's Peewee AEs played the Erin-Hillsburgh Devils. The team now waits for the winner of the LincolnPelham-Niagara Lake series.
