The Acton Atom AE Tanners, sponsored by Drexler Construction & Chudleigh's, added two second round wins in their OMHA playoff run after sweeping aside rivals Erin-Hillsburgh in the first round by scores of 10-2, 8-1 and 3-1. The Tanners second round opponent, Saugeen Shores Storm, made the long trek to Acton in the first game. The home squad showed signs of rust in a scoreless first after a week and a half layoff between game action. But in the second, they busted out with two Five playoff wins for Atom AE Tanners goals from Michael Haggett and singles from Riley Drexler and Aydin Reddeman, assisted by Mike Jankowski, Owen Kennedy, Kevin Reppar and Matthew Geim. Jaret Rosenburg added one in the third from Thomas Holmes to seal the 5-0 win. Cale McWilliams was solid in net. In game two, Acton made the long trip and opened the scoring once again early in the second period after failing to capitalize in a 0-0 opening frame. Defenseman Reppar got the scoring frenzy started with an end to end rush assisted by Haggett. That sparked the Tanners offence which erupted for six more goals before the game ended with a 7-0 shutout for Chris Harriott. The scoring was provided by Jankowski (2G), Kennedy (G, 2A), Rosenburg (G, A) and Haggett with helpers from Evan Ashe, Reddeman and Drexler. As his defence partner did earlier to start the scoring, d-man Holmes ended the game scoring on an end to end rush of his own.
