The Chargers had a strong start in game one on Friday night vs. Centre Wellington Fusion. They held a 2-0 lead until only two minutes left in the second period, with Ethan Krusky holding strong in net. Goals came from Brady Borges and Kyle Spence with assists to Devonte Teves-Benjamin, Ben Armstrong, Andrew Grant and Jake Case. In the third period, the Fusion came on strong and scored three more, doubling Acton 4-2. The Chargers played the Burlington Bulldogs in game two the strongest team they have faced this season. Acton was down two goals in the first period and another in the second frame. Carter MacPherson spoiled the Bulldog's shutout with just three minutes left on the clock, with assists by Michael Gillis and Makayla Dee. Josh Dunbar had to make some outstanding saves to hold this game to the 3-1 loss. In game three, Acton fought to a 2-1 overtime win. Oakville Panthers took a 1-0 lead early in the first, but Case got a shot away, after being tripped up on a breakaway, to Borges who scored on the second rebound to tie the game. Goalies Krusky and Dunbar were both strong forces in front of their net, ensuring the game ended in a tie and forcing an OT to decide the outcome. With tournament rules, it came down to a oneon-one sudden death for one minute, and with 33 seconds remaining, Lucas Scully dove after his own rebound netting the win. "Wow, what a way to finish a weekend. They played so hard and they deserved this win," said head coach, Mike Case. "The team had some tough games, fought hard, and played well. We're very proud of the way they played all weekend."
