Acton resident Matt Mills teamed up with partner Brittany Doleman of Hamilton to win the gold medal in the figure skating competition at the recent Ontario Winter Games in Barrie. Competing in the Juvenile Ice Dance category, the pair took top spot in each of the compulsory dances on day one, and then clinched the golds with a sparkling performance in the free dance. Mills, a 14-year-old Acton High School student, and Doleman have been only skating together for less than a year but have shown a great deal of potential. They will perform their free dance routine at the Acton Skating Carnival on Saturday, April 1.
