CBC News at Six will be broadcast from Georgetown District High School Friday (April 7). The 6 p.m. live broadcast will include segments and interviews with students as part of CBC's news series Queen's Park: Making the Grade. The GDHS Geography Club has been participating in the series that last fall followed the efforts of dozens of schools as they came up with ideas for private member's bills. The club drafted a bill calling for two recycling bins for paper and drinking containers in every Ontario classroom. The bill was selected for sponsorship by the Liberals and is to have its first reading at Queen's Park tomorrow (Thursday). The students will be there to observe. Members of the school community are invited to be part of the audience during the CBC broadcast at the school. Audience members must arrive by 5 p.m. Friday. More information and previous newscasts from Queen's Park: Making the Grade initiative is available at www.cbc.ca/toronto/features/makingthegrade/
